From the hours I’ve put into trying to figure this problem out I see that it’s usually just not configured properly. Obviously mine isn’t configured properly either but with a slight twist from what I’ve been reading. Here are the details.
Problem: Ezplayer Pro will not trigger sounds from SD2.2 in PTLE.
PTLE 7.0
EZPP 1.10
SD 2.23
EZD 1.30
All other Toontrack packs up to date as of 7/22/11
Session Setup:
EZPP inserted on a mono instrument track.
Midi In – All
Midi Out – SD Multiout 1 Ch1
SD2.2 inserted on a stereo instrument track.
Midi In – All (EZPP does not show up in this list. Should it?)
Midi Out – SD Multiout 1 Ch1
SD track armed.
EZPP Setup:
Map wrap Master
Midi Out = Thru
Note: I’ve tried various combos here such as specifing Midi Out as Ch1 and or Toontracks SD2 etc.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Midi In – All (EZPP does not show up in this list. Should it?)
Yes.
Are you 100% sure you have the latest versions of the plugins installed? They report the version number in the plugin interface.
Please try the attached Session. It should only require you to Record-arm the S2 Instrument track and click Play in EZplayer Pro to play MIDI from EZplayer Pro through Superior 2.

I just verified version numbers within PT.
I tried the sesssion file you provided. I get this error:
“Could not complete Open Session… command because it was determined the session version is too new while translating Document info.
Oh,
you’re using Pro Tools 7.0?
Didn’t catch that before my last reply. All Toontrack plugins require Pro Tools 7.3 or higher to function properly (stated on the Compatibility pages). It is simply a limitation of Pro Tools, there are no internal MIDI ports. Well, not that works with 3rd party Instruments at least.

Gotcha – I’ve been using the Toontrack stuff for a while with 7.0. This is the first time I’ve tried something that didn’t work under it.
Thanks again John.
I’m not sure if going 7.3 (7.3.1) is paid upgrade or not these days. Might be worth investigating.
