So I am trying to let EZKeys play a simple Blues chord progression in C minor and want to play a melody over that in the C minor pentatonic. I set my host up to C minor, I try to set EZKeys to “C minor” but it jumps to E flat major instead. Ultimately, finally I got ezkeys displaying “C minor” as the key, then I drag some MIDI out of the Blues library onto the “midi song blocks” part of EZkeys window. Now the keys I can see are: E flat7 | A flat 6 | E flat minor/A flat | E flat7 | A flat 6 | E flat minor / A flat and so on.. including E flat 9, B flat 7 and B flat 13.
Sounds good but when I try to play a melody in C minor pentatonic, it just somehow always sounds wrong and I am sure everything is in tune. Is it because ezkeys is focusing on the respective major to Cm which is E flat maj? And uses E flat as root for all chords?
Why does that happen? Even when it is set to C minor!?
How can I make EZKeys transpose correctly into a proper C minor Blues??? Do I really have to click through each individual chord and select its respective minor?
(And when changing each individual chord, it just ends up sounding bad and like differently played from what the playing was before in e flat.)
