EZDrummer2 – using more cymbals than what the kit contains

I apologize in advance if it’s a dumb question 🙂
I’m about to purchase EZDrummer2 but before that I must clear a question I have: If I select a given kit in EZDrummer (one that has let’s say 3 cymbals), is it possible to re-assign a particular note (let’s say a tom rimshot) to an additional cymbal ? (I’m actually doing this on my edrum.) If that’s possible, is there any limitation to the amount voices that EZdrummer can assign ? (crazy scenario where I would have 1HH, 1Ride and like 7 cymbals)

Or am I limited to the amount of cymbals/assignes actually “drawn” for each kit ?

No they don’t allow us to add different instruments to different instruments….. Like your saying we cannot put a cymbal on a tom…BUT there is an expansion kit that has PLENTY of cymbals…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3UovOr6iOk

thanks for your quick reply!
Indeed my kit would look like the metal one in the expansion kit.
So If I use that one, would it be possible for me to assign sounds from the original EZDrummer App (like a DW snare or other cymbal) or am I limited to the sounds of the expansion kit ?
If so, it may be a way to circumvent the limitation of the original kit.

OR

I go for Superior drummer (https://www.toontrack.com/superior-line/), which I think doesn’t have this limitation ?

Glad that helped… YES you can change all the snares and toms and other instruments to whatever/how many kits you have…they will show up in each category…BUT if you have the money to go to superior drummer 2 DON”T get SUPERIOR DRUMMER 3 it has ALL the features of EZD2 PLUS being able to stack instruments like more than one KIK or SNARE which is really important with todays sounds..(even yesterdays sounds lol)

I wouldn’t recommend SD2 because of its complicated workflow either…..
