Hello Toontrack, With the introduction of EZdrummer 2, will we have to uninstall/remove EZdrummer and all the EZX libraries? Or is this a completely new version with a completely different drum library that will coexist alongside EZdrummer (V1)? Is EZdrummer 2 going to be compatible with older EZdrummer sessions? Lastly, is EZdrummer 2 going to be compatible with the current line of EZX’s, S2, the SDX’s, Solo & EZplayer pro? Or are all of these getting updates to version 2 as well? Thanks!

no.

it ships with its own sound library and will replace EZdrummer 1 in your projects (so you get the new upgraded version when you open them next). Pop/Rock will of course remain available.
Is EZdrummer 2 going to be compatible with older EZdrummer sessions?
yes.
Lastly, is EZdrummer 2 going to be compatible with the current line of EZX’s, S2, the SDX’s, Solo & EZplayer pro? Or are all of these getting updates to version 2 as well?
certain aspects require updates, in various respect depending on the product mentioned in your list. That will be done gradually but most will be available on release (of EZdrummer 2). … feel free to post follow up questions, but be aware that we are planning to post a FAQ in the course of the day, or tomorrow latest, so you may be better off waiting for this to be posted and probe further points after reading it.

Hi! Great news! What about the minimum system requirements, especially for Mac OSX? Will you still support 10.6? Cheers, L.

Toontrack also reported that coinciding with the release of EZdrummer 2, the entire line of sound library expansions (EZXs) will be modernized with completely new effect chains and graphics optimized for EZdrummer 2. Will the updated EZXs be free for existing owners, or will there be an upgrade fee?
Is there an upgrade price/path for existing EZ drummer owners who do not fall within a grace period or will we have to pay the full price?

The release of EZDrummer 2 says the following: From March 13 2014 through May 6 2014, anyone who purchases EZdrummer will automatically be eligible for a free upgrade to EZdrummer 2 (digital delivery only, available for download on release day from each registered user’s personal Toontrack account). I purchased EZdrummer on March 5th, 2014, a week before the release. Might Toontrack provide free upgrades to EZdrummer 2 for existing owners within a broader window than March 13 – May 6, 2014? Thank you. Larry
I bought my EZ and additional add-on on Feb 22 and I am now expected to lay out another 100 dollars for the up grade….Get real people…Sorry but I don’t agree with this as a good business practice let alone what feels like I am getting it in both ends. Half of that up grade amount sounds liveable to me
March 13 is the start off date to qualify for the free upgrade. Bear in mind that there are 2 sound libraries shipping with the product, in effect fully qualifying ‘EZX’ size (bigger in fact), included in that cost. You will have to decide if paying $49 for each of those libraries is beyond the call. There will be a demo of EZdrummer 2 available, so you will be able to judge whether it is worth the upgrade cost – that is the best I can say to customers who purchased the product a day / a week / a month before that date, sorry.

ORIGINAL: Dicker Bub I’d still like to know whether EZD2 will give us a resizable surface, please.
no, the graphical interface will be a fixed size of 900×660 (plus host dependent window frame).
