Hello Toontrack and community,
first, I want to thank all the people at Toontrack for making this whole thing possible. At the moment, I just don’t have the time and money to form a band and start an elaborate music project, but thanks to you, I have many great sounding guitar tones available at home and can be creative without spending thousands of moneys on gear that I can not really use. And you even made all the programs look very nice and appealing, so great work!
Now my issue, I have recently switched all my systems to Ubuntu (Studio 15.10) and have had great success with installing and using my programs either natively, or, if not available, with Wine. I was able to install my DAW, Reaper, in Wine-RT and run the basic installers for EZmix 2, EZdrummer 2 and all the custom Toontrack installers for the drum kits and mix packs, which I have quite a few of, fine without any problems. The plugins got recognised correctly and I was able to activate them. However, I was not able to install the EZdrummer 2 Update (2.1.1) with the 64-bit installer. I have a 64-bit system, version of Reaper and EZdrummer installed (checked) and still only the 32-bit .msi-installer will recognise that I have EZdrummer 2 installed, the 64-bit installer cancels, because it is not able to find a valid EZdrummer installation. Of course, the 32-installer will just replace the ezdrummer.dll with the 32-bit version and install files in the wrong directories, which does not help me at this point.
So far, I have tried to install EZdrummer 2 into both the “Program Files” and “Program Files (x86)” folders, directly into the C-folder as “C:ezd” with plugin .dlls in the Reaper plugins folder and in the program folder, but nothing seems to change that the 64-bit installer will not recognise the program.
At this point, the program is also showing me a screen on every start that says: “(!) This EZdrummer is not the latest installed on this system. The version you should be using can be found here: C:ezd (www.toontrack.com)”, which actually is the correct path and the plugin file that I am loading.
Is there another way to install the 2.1.1 update, maybe manually with the files that I have downloaded? Is there a version of the update availbe with the custom Toontrack installer like the EZX addons and mix packs? Or will there be a new base version of EZdrummer 2 in which the newest update is already integrated and not the 2.0.2 version at some point? Or is there at least some way to get rid of the version-warning screen at each startup?
Best regards!
