Hello… I would like to purchase EZDrummer 2, but first need to ask a compatibility question. If I were to export a midi file from EZDrummer 2 and import it into my DAW
(which is currently running EZDrummer 1.3), will the file play correctly?? I have the older Pop/Rock, Vintage, Nashville and DFH EZX kits… Will I need the EZX updates?
My current DAW does not seem to function well with EZDrummer 2, so I thought I could just use the standalone version of 2 and export/import…
Thanks for any advice or help!
You don’t mention what OS, hardware, or DAW that you are running,
but you should be aware that in a Toontrack default installation,
EZDrummer2 will install over top of EZDrummer1.
The two products cannot exist on the same PC or Mac…
Beyond that, AFAIK, MIDI created in & exported from EZDrummer2 should import flawlessly
into EZDrummer1 (using the same EZX expansion & mapping).
PS. updates to your older EZX’s are FREE!!! in order for them to run under EZDrummer2,
available in your Toontrack online account.
Just wanted to add that the latest version is 1.4.0, so no need to run 1.3.0…

Running Win7 Pro 64-bit, Sonar Producer x1c, and Echo Audiofire4… I tried the EZDrummer 2 demo and it was finicky with Sonar, even after I uninstalled EZ1
Appreciate your quick responses! Thank you both…
Maybe I should change the default installation location of EZDrummer 2, or would that cause further conflicts?
