I’m working on a song and have all my drums routed to separate tracks in Pro Tools. I was looking at the mixer and there is one channel of drums labeled “Dist.” It is shown as “Off,” but the mixer shows activity on that channel. I searched the manual and can’t find any reference to what this is. Also wonder why it’s off but still getting a signal.
Thanks. What’s it used for? Is it just displaying overall distortion? Not clear on the purpose. I looked again and there is nothing in the manual.
Its to add distortion to the mix .
Your ears can tell whats going on, Did you turn up the fader and actually listen?
Thanks, juicy.
What threw me was that it shares a channel with Phase and I didn’t realize till I soloed Phase in PT what it actually does. In this context it doesn’t add anything useful (just noise, which in this case I don’t want), but at least I know it’s there.
