I’m in the the process of picking/buying a bass VSTi. Absolute beginner on EZbass here on a trial version. I’m using Reaper as DAW, and won’t change that anytime soon. 🙂
I figure the grid editor in Toontrack software allows editing articulations on bass notes. OK, in the editor you can drag MIDI, edit MIDI, and record within the editor.
I cannot though, figure out how to trigger recording from the DAW into the grid editor (e.g. with a MIDI keyboard). If I have a click/drum track with any other recorded instruments, I want to start recording from the DAW with prerecorded instruments as backing. Will I actually have to export the resulting DAW MIDI track, and drag it into the grid editor (to allow for articulation editing), or is there an easier way? Recording within the grid editor doesn’t seem to work “backwards” with the DAW to meet my needs. I may have missed something here, but this could be a “to be or not to be” EZbass thing for me. Really like the sounds, though…
Please tell me what I am missing. 🙂 Have a nice day, guys!

Hi,
you can record MIDI from the Instrument track in your DAW to the Song Track in EZbass. Just click the Record button in EZbass and then play your DAW timeline.
