I am considering upgrading to mix 3, my question is, when I use AI Mastering and then sift through the presets for AI, I don’t need to use ‘reference tracks’ anymore, right? Because EZ MIx AI is already using ‘references’ to discern how my mix should be mastered.
I am asking this because I don’t care to sound like a reference track, but I have been using those simply to not sound bad compared to reference tracks, not necessarily to sound the same, for example to make sure there’s not too much low end, or too much brightness, or that my master is not too quiet compared to the reference track.
so with EZ mIx 3 AI mastering, I can just stop caring about reference tracks as it uses its own ‘references’ to eliminate major flaws in my master, am I right?
Hi,
I would say both yes and no😉
Once EZmix3 has analysed your track and you try out and tweak the different presets, you should be in the ballpark for the preset’s genre references. That said, it’s always good practice with reference checking if you need to tweak something.

ok, thanks for the honest answer, understood. It’s more to get into a ballpark, which is a lot anyways. Just wanted to know exactly what the product does. Thanks.
