This will no doubt seem like a dumb question to the veterans here but I’m pretty new to the Toontrack products so please forgive that. I was about to purchase the EZ Keys plug in (loved the demo) but in the terms of use when you go to buy, it said something along the lines of being allowed to use the program only for composing and live performance. I am wondering if I use the included MIDI grooves to compose my own music (i.e. with my own chord progressions), can I then still use the resulting EZ Keys performance track in a commercially released song? Though it would seem to obviously limit the usefulness of the program if you can’t, that remains unclear to me and would like someone to confirm that officially – that it’s not just a songwriting tool that requires you to later re-record the piano parts because you used the included MIDI grooves to produce your piano track. Looks like a great program with an excellent sampled piano.
Yes, you can use the MIDI in commercially released compositions.

…Although…you as a composer are ultimately responsible if you would violate any copyright issues with already existing songs. As you would when using any other software or writing a song from scratch without any songwriting software at all. Business as usual, so to speak.

i was told by toontrack last year that you couldn’t use their ez keys midi in commercial compositions…and that you had to substantially change it to avoid any copyright issues…tho quite how one would measure this substantial change, i really don’t know. a few notes? a key transposition? 10 bpm slower?
i feel a bit sorry for the guy who played and wrote the parts [richard clayderman? chas..of chas n dave?]. i bet he didn’t get paid so well
“Are your samples/MIDI….royalty free for commercial use?” Can I use all/any midi sample as is without infringement concerns?
