I love EZ Drummer and I have a request to make arranging songs easier. (I know I am maybe getting into copyright details with this request but I’ll ask anyway). Often I like to either re-do existing songs or have basic song structures to play to from already existing songs. I would love to see a feature in EZ Drummer that can analyze a song, search your existing midi groove library and build the closest representation to that song that it can, automatically. Even if it’s not exact it may get close enough to save hours worth of searching and editing. And, if it doesn’t have the right groove in the existing library it can suggest the right expansion pack that can deliver the results (brining in more sales for Toontrack!) It could capture the bpm of the song, pick out the different parts, arrange them and then give a % of close-ness to what it delivered. I understand that there are some bands out there that this may be relatively impossible for but for the more mainstream type of song structures it may be real easy to make this happen. Often times I play with a group where the drummer can’t make it to rehearsal or even the gig (go figure) but this can be the back up drummer in those situations but the hours of programming the cover songs we play would be too much to do. Maybe a feature or program such as this can make this process much easier.
Thanks for listening!
Scott
