I have a Singular Sound BeatBuddy pedal that I’ve had for five or so years. It’s been an OK pedal, but the software used to manage the grooves and associated drums pretty much sucks and for years Singular Sound has made promises of a new ‘improved’ manager, but it’s not happened and I don’t see it in the foreseeable future. I also have other issues in the direction the BB pedal is taking with Singular’s approach to firmware updates and support.
I’ve come to really like the functionality and workflow of EZ Drummer and I’ve exported a few wav files for use in my looper pedal, but I think I could really be interested in a pedal that could use the EZ Drummer drum samples and MIDI files in a similar way that the BeatBuddy does. Many of us already have sizable collections of EZX Sound Expansions and MIDI packs and being able to use these in a pedal would be an excellent added benefit and enticement to purchase a pedal that could use these.
I’m sure the EZ Drummer user base is large enough that they could contribute some excellent input as to a wish list for functionality and features.
My vote is a definite yes. A pedal to operate ezdrummer live would be a giant blessing because of the cumbersome nature of the beatbuddy manager ( I feel like I’m working with an old Commodore 64 computer when diving into beatbuddy manager)
