ez drummer 3 too hot

replaced  ez drummer 2 on a drum track with ez drummer 3 and too hot @ +4dB not velocity issue, stock ez midi (but same if no playback and hit drums with mouse)   i have seen other posts that mention…why is this and is a way to fix?
