Hello, I own both EZ drummer and Superior Drummer-2. I mainly use the EZ drummer kit inside Superior Drummer for flexible mixing when playing live. Will that still be possible with EZ Drummer-2? And if so will all the features from EZ-Drummer-2 work inside Superior Drummer? Thx in advance, Jan

Yes i will likely wait for an update to SD2 . it’s been a while and is meant to be the flagship.
Who gets my $$ perhaps FXp
SD2 users that buy EZD2 would probably do that mostly to
get the new song writing MIDI functionality but EZD2 comes
with two excellent new sound libraries that are not 16 bit.

I play/make my own but are you saying
EZD2 is 24 bit and new releases will be in 24 bit ?

No, they sit somewhere in between EZD1 and SD2 and they are
still ‘pre-mixed’. The aim has been to resolve the noise floor.
This was needed to make our own presets with added effects
impeccable regarding sound quality. The size in RAM of these
new kits are around 700MB, i.e. considerably more than the 300,
or so, of an EZX. A sizeable part of that increase is more bits.
New EZX2:s are likely to be similar in that respect.

I won’t be one of them. The songwriting tools look cool but not enough to buy the entire ezd2 product for. That’s like buying a ford mustang but then having to buy a focus just to get the air conditioner

EXACTLY!!!
Yes, but it is cute to have gadgets like verb on board, midi thru, did i see automation from host yet, anyhow…
Do the new Modern & Vintage kits work in SD2 i assume so but do we need some update for SD2 to make them work / show up ?
Yes, you need the updated S2.4. We have a release candidate in testing and hope to be able to release it soon.

Can I use EZDrummer 2 to construct my drums and simply have the MIDI out go directly to SD2 to trigger SD2 drum sounds?

Yes

To some extent, yes. There is the Volume and MIDI Program Change but also the Mixer effect controls that can be automated in your DAW.

Thats great John.
On a side note and hypocritical of me, i did get EZD2.
It has some great improvements , you guys have obviously listened to ppl Great Work !
I did notice omissions ,now there is no simple humanise knob and no volume knob ? EDITED
We are listening close too
Right, no ‘Humanize’ on/off, since it was virtually nil users that wanted to actually turn Humanize off and would likely have been even less (if possible) with EZdrummer 2.
The Main Volume knob has turned into a horizontal fader in the lower right of the interface.

I see the EZ2 Demo is now available, so all Superior users that wonder
whether it is any use to get EZD2 can just download and try it out.
