Hi there
Recently bought the excellent EX Drummer 2,and started to use ,inside my FL Studio 12,and noticed some audio glitches going on, while checking out the drums etc.So checked with my other Vst’s,nothing all good.
Checked my Focusrite 8i6 settings. The latency and buffer all good, nothing changed, latest software installed. Tried some YT music video, fine no problems
I had EZ Drummer 2.open as a standalone, and get no audio glitches!! Closed the standalone, tried again,as a Vst .same audio glitches!! Used a free latency checker tool, all good, all in the green.
(Do I need to install the 32 bit version too?( Pretty sure I don’t need too)
I had installed correctly, and downloaded the latest update. I am using Windows 7 SP1 64bit ,only installed the 64 bit version of EZ drummer.
I have emailed support and see what they say, really odd I am stumped as to the cause.
Any help,would be appreciated
Thanks
Do the glitches go away if you raise your audio buffer size? What is your current buffer size?

Hi Scott
My buffer size is 5.0 ms,Sample Rate 44.1kHz
I did try to raise them but it was much worse (this is in Vst mode). As mentioned in standalone mode no problems at all
Thank you for your reply,
Can you post pics of your audio settings (buffer settings) for both standalone and in FL Studio?

HI Scoot after a lot of worry and head scratching ,I looked into my FL Studio help menu,in there it talks about the Vst wrapper,so I turned on a setting (see image)
And volia!! No glitches at all!! am waiting to hear back from Toontrack support anyway and will give those guys n gals feedback too
cheers Scott
And, you say if you raise the buffer to like 512 samples, the glitches are worse?
What are you computer specs (besides Windows 7)? Is there any other plugins or tracks loaded in FL? Or does this happen with a fresh project with just EZD2 loaded?

Just done a 2 hr play,and figure out, session,no pops or crackles,Scott!!
Took a while to figure out,so sure,he,he
Hey,
Just want to confirm, that ‘use fixed size buffers’ will resolve the crackling problem in FL Studio (here V20.5.1)
I run Win 10 and use a Focusrite 2i2 on an older laptop with 4 GB RAM. I would only get pops and crackles when I switch the mixer presets before they are fully loaded/applied to the loop playing (they won’t go away after that). I’ve had no buffer issues so far with other plug-ins or the EZ 2 standalone app.
Anyway, switching to ‘fixed size buffer’ got rid of the crackling and I now can toggle between mixer presets without getting glitches.
Cheers
