I’m testing EZ Bass in trial mode. The problem is that I cannot post questions in the EZ Bass section as I don’t have the license. Toontrack should allow users in trial mode to post there!
Back to my question: Is it possible to test Metal and Progressive Metal too? Which one is better? I don’t want to spend money on EZ Bass + Metal or Progressive Metal without knowing how it will sound with my midi.
I have Shreddage Bass 2 and Abyss…my midi sounds good with Shreddage Bass and EZ Mix Teutonic Terror Bass from the Andy Sneap pack. The audio demos for EZ Mix Andy Sneap -> bass sound just like Shreddage Bass + EZ Mix Teutonic Terror Bass…BUT EZ Bass in trial mode + EZ Mix Teutonic Terror Bass sounds different…not as heavy…and I don’t know why?
I don’t know if it is the bass…and it will sound just like Shreddage Bass and/or the Andy Sneap audio demos with EBX Metal or Progressive Metal.
I don’t want to spend money on something I don’t know if I will like it….but I am not happy with Shreddage Bass either…
Can I test EBX Metal and Progressive Metal somehow?
Which would you recommend for metal, but a more lively tone with some melodies and easy soloing instead of modern downtuned djent sound?
My virtual bass/midi is tuned to D standard, but with a low A string at the bottom (in Guitar Pro)…A-D-G-C-F.

I think Metal EBX is better than raft wars because it is designed to provide powerful, detailed and clear bass, suitable for many different metal genres. Includes finger-recorded, picked and slapped samples, along with a custom MIDI library inspired by modern metal
