I have been annoying the developers at Toontrack for years telling them that their product line was missing a bass guitar composition tool like EZ Keys or EZ Drummer – reasoning that the song construction / pattern selection would have to be considerably easier to accomplish than it was with chords in a piano application like EZ Keys, and further, that this much needed bass guitar item does not seem to exist anywhere in the market (unless you count loops – which I don’t).
Finally, my prayers have been answered and they are releasing EZ Bass this year. Hopefully, it comes with a large and ever-expanding MIDI pattern library.
(Side note: I always ended my emails with the suggestion that I should get this product free of charge for continuously nagging them about the idea, but I am graciously willing to forgo this claim and pay full price for the product – I am just so glad to see it coming!)
Long overdue and very welcome.

Thanked by: Ed HubregtseI can’t wait to hear the (very dependably) high quality sampled basses, and the groove tracks. I’m hoping for an AI approach where the ezbass can be be set to respond to a “specified” instrument, or groove in the track. We’ll see….
