Last week I went out with a freind who wanted to a buy an ekit after listening to my ddrum4 triggering S2.
Since I had a bit of spare cash I though maybe I could sell him my ddrum4 and buy myself a new kit.
Well what a disapointment. Not one kit out there impressed me at all. I tried the td20 and the sounds were nowhere near as good as S2. To be honest they didn’t match the internal sounds on the ddrum4 for being realistic. The new very expensive yamaha sounds were horrendous and the 2box felt like it would fall apart if I hit it. The rest of the cheaper kits had dodgy pads horrible sounds and bad triggering.
So I stick with the ddrum4. I have added the alesis trigger IO but only for one hit sounds like extra cymbals. The ddrum takes care of all the trickey stuff because it is so much better at it. Ah well saved me a lot of money.
My freind has now tried my trigger io with my ddrum4 pads and is thinking of getting ezdrummer and a pad set. Not brilliant but the options out there are poor. I can’t belive the prices and how little things have improved. No wonder there are few ddrum4 for sale. Could do with another to increase my inputs.
