I get that Toontrack brags about combining beats, play edit etc, ‘avoiding the piano roll’, BUT I want a piano roll sometimes.
I want to double click on a beat, and be able to add in or subtract specific hits on a midi grid. This seems like a pretty basic need.
I’m not seeing it anywhere in the demo, or anything really addressing it in the videos.
Also, the quantize is not the greatest, and isn’t there a sort of auto-shuffle? I thought the beat matcher was supposed to really
closely reproduce the beat I tap in by hand. Instead, I’m getting matching hat hits, and certain beats that are sort of in the ballpark.
I really hoped for a beat matcher to build off what I’ve tapped in.
I need the basic beat to start with in matching, before I start adding other elements.
ALSO, where is UNDO? There in no UNDO? This can’t be possible…
