When used with a DAW.
Playhead and Looping logic is clumsy it makes you work too hard to achieve an end result, WHY?
Logic should be like this.
No matter in which area you are in moving playhead should move it in all areas, DAW, SONG MODE, GRID MODE, it should appear as one software working together to achieve one goal, and that is a finished drum track in SONG MODE that is in perfect sync with the DAW at all times.
LOOPING, if you have a loop created in the DAW Eazy drummer should obey this loop when played by DAW play button and it should ignore any loop points in eazy drummer, because if you are using the DAW play button it means you want to hear the overall finished product, you dont want eazy drummer loops to be in effect giving you a false result because its loop points are setup elswhere because you were working in a different area, this poor logic that exists now forces the user to continually have to keep changing loop points in the DAW and eazy drummer making it a HARD DRUMMER, when you create a loop point in SONG MODE this loop point should only be used when you use SONG MODE play button and should be ignored when using the DAW loop point, this allows you to be creative in a specific area in SONG MODE you are working in yet it is easy to go to DAW and hit play to hear the finished product as it actually is, When you hit play in SONG MODE the DAW should play as well from where you placed the playhead, you can always MUTE the DAW Audio tracks or SOLO eazy drummer if you want to hear drums only, so i dont understand to why you dont have this logical operation at the moment. This logic applies to GRID MODE, when you create a loop point and hit play in eazy drummer the DAW should play to this loop point if you exit to DAW and hit play there the daws loop point is immediately used and the daws play buttons are obayed.
In simple terms, whatever area you are working in ITS settings apply so you can easily get on with creating instead of continually fiddling.
PLAYHEAD logic should be, the auto scroll operates till you touch the screen area you want to modify, it should immediately stop and let you allow to edit, a simple button push should resume playhead scroll, also an option to have CENTRAL PLAYHEAD position option so the playhead is locked in the centre, this allows you to easily jump in to modify data at a particular spot then click a button to resume central scrolling, this is much more efficient that the DOGS BREAKFAST we have to put up with now.
At the moment you are continually fighting the software to do do things in a very clumsy way, there are good exaples of good logic in this area just look at CUBASE, LOGIC PRO, etc these programs have years of peoples feedback to what actually works, eazy drummer is fantastic from a drums sound point of view but has a long way to go to get itself to todays users expectations.
These modifications are not rocket science, you have done the hard work but you did not suceed with the finishing touches.
Ease of operation is as crucial as perfect drum sound eazy drummer seems to have spent more effort in its quality sounds then its thought on how users might use them.
I personally require a very simple thing and that is to place drums behind a song track i have created, yet i have been totally frustrated by eazy drummer, in stand alone mode i can load a song in to bandmaster i can get a brilliant basic drum track behind it with a simple few clicks and the song sounds almost perfect, then i can do FUCKALL WITH IT.
I place this midi file in to song mode so i can then precisely manipulate this drum track in grid editor, i cant hear my song, WTF, why have you made the stand alone version? I dont get to what you can do with eazy drummer in stand alone mode, it does nothing, BANDMASTER is THE SOFTWARE why anyone would buy eazy drummer yet it cant do shit on its own, i have eazy drummer 2 and supirior drummer, so why would i buy eazy drummer 3 when its biggest asset BANDMASTER is a very narow minded useless tool.
I Expect to load a 3 minute song that requires drums to be dropped in to BANDMASTER which then creates my basic drum beat behind this song, i then drag this midi to SONG MODE, and Enter GRID EDITOR to finetune my drums by HEARING MY SONG SO I CAN RELATE TO THIS TRACK WHILE I AM GRID EDITING.Oce happy with finished product i should be able to export either the drum only midi or audio, a complete mix to an audio stereo track, seperate midi drum tracks of the song and multitrack audio tracks of all seperate drums.
Any layered instruments stay on one track , ALL SNARES STAY ON ONE SNARE TRACK. Otherwise you end up with too many tracks and require years to finalize a project, to achieve something no one will notice.
And thats my other point eazy drummer is almost too wanky with all its features to achieve such small noticeable differences that it becomes a time waster , its drum differences are so subltle that it is not worth wasting time on as the end listener would not hear the difference , its fine if you have a client paying you megabucks for a project and you have to justify the price but a nice simple good quality sample is good enough, whats more important that you can use the interface easily to be creative, thats where eazy drummer suffers, it hasnt a purpose in stand alone mode.
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO WITH EAZY DRUMMER 3 IN STAND ALONE MODE SHOULD BE THE QUESTION.
