Hi all,
currently playing with EZD 2 demo. Quite impressive.
Playing around, i found that i often happen to search for a groove, edit it within EZD, then drag the midi from EZD to the Daw (studio one 3). Everything smooth and working fine.
But, if i want to drag the midi file back to EZD for further editing using the fantastic editor inside EZD, it looks like i cant. I try to drag back the midi block but EZD just does not get it, even if no edit has been made. It appears then to me that i have to make all the edits inside EZD, and that once dragged into the DAW i can only edit with in-DAW tools.
Is it correct?
I ask this as then i would need to build all the drum part within EZD before doing a “final” drag into the daw, but this is not so easy as its much easier to have the midi files inside the DAW so that you can have a much better view of the song, alignment of the tracks, etc.
What would be the typical workflow?
Thanks a lot and congrats for the impressive work.

Not all DAWs support drag and drop back to plugin. I’m not sure if Studio One is one or not. Cubase Pro8 you can.
You can play and record the MIDI you dragged to the DAW MIDI track back to the EZD2 Song Track. Make sure the Follow Host button is active and hit the Record button in the EZD2 Song Track. Hit play in your host and EZD2 will record the edited MIDI.

if your predictive software did its job we wouldn’t have to do this
example you take a straight beat the next bit is a shuffle in your song i.e. skip beat add and retract don’t work . so you admit 2 years down the line itcant do simple rudiments
