I’d like to know if it’s possible to separate cymbal tracks. As far as I know there are the “OH Dyn” and “OH Cond” tracks in the mixer, and these cover all the cymbals. Is it possible to create separate tracks for each cymbal so I can apply different effects on each? Is it at least possible to pan each cymbal separately? Let say I want to pan my ride cymbal to sound centered, without affecting the other cymbals, is it easy to do?
Thank you
Hi,
this is fairly easy to do:
On the Drums page, right-click the Cymbal you wish to direct to a separate mixer channel and go > More > Route Instrument Microphones.
There you see how the Close signal and Bleed currently are routed.
Click the Close OH drop-down and select ‘Create New Channel’ at the bottom. Close the window.
Now you have an ‘X-OH’ channel in the Mixer, which you can rename by clicking the Channel name and enter e.g. ‘Cymbal 1 Out’.

Thanked by: Don DallyHello,
I tried this (want my ride on a separate track)… when I right click on the ride, I do not get an option for “more”.
I can change between 3 sound options, import audio file, and midi mapping.
Im sure I am missing something….
Hi William,
are you by any chance using EZdrummer 3 and not Superior Drummer 3?

John
