Do I lose the EZ D1 license when I upgrade to EZ D2?

You will have access to the EZD 1 download and license. But, if you have EZD 1 installed, the EZD 2 installer will replace the EZD 1 plugin in your projects. You will still have access to the Pop/Rock and Cocktail kits from EZD 1 but only in the EZD 2 interface.
