Hi there!
I’ve been to the DIY tutos sections, very encouraging stuff !
I’d like to build a velocity sensitive kick pedal, and a continuous hats pedal with a velocity sensitive trigger for hats close and footsplashes (I’ still trigger the hats with my fingers on the padkontrol).
The thing is that I can’t afford buying a ddrum brain, so I was wondering if it were possible to build the brains myself?
The brains in question would just need to convert two piezzo signals to MIDI notes of varying velocitoes, and a light dimmer signal to MIDI CC 04.
Mr Beatnick, does it sound DIY-ible ?
many thanks
Since yesterday I’ve been googling hard and this sort of tings came out:

http://www.maxmidi.com/diy/foot/index.html
http://www.audiomulch.com/midipic/
The potentiometer->MIDI conversion takes a programmable PIC, yet it still looks feasible, however nothing came out about converting a piezo signal to a note on with variable velocity?
How about brainstorming a little bit around this material ?
The brain would have three inputs, two for piezzos, 1 for a potentiometer, and would have a midi in, midi thru, midi out. It’ll most likely house a PIC of some kind?
