I just bought the Progressive EZX, and I love its snare sounds when you hit the center of the drum. It also includes sounds that play when you hit the edge of the snare head (not the rim), which sound weaker and ringier – generally worse. My issue is that, when I’m playing, I find myself accidentally hitting the sad edge notes FAR more often than I do the regular center notes, which sounds unsatisfying and frankly, just bad. It seems that the window for what is considered the “center” of the snare is much too small; if I move my hits even the slightest bit away from the precise center, it plays a horrible edge note.
So my question is this: Is there any way for me to disable the snare edge notes, or make it so that no matter where I hit the snare, it always plays a center note?
I assume you are using a vkit. You need to address this with the head unit of your vkit. You’re vkit is sending a note when you hit the non-center and EZ is simply responding to it. Custom midi-map your kit to solve the issue.
EZd2 can’t do it, Superior drummer can, fyi.
