Hello!
Is there actually a difference between
1. raising the velocity knob in SD2 and drag and drop a groove into a MIDI track of my DAW
OR
2. drag and drop the groove without touching the velocity knob but raising the velocity levels later in my DAW (e.g. in Cubase by using a MIDI editor)?
I am asking, because sometimes i start working on a drum MIDI track and everything seems fine. But later on, i realize that i’d like a bit more articulation or dynamics. And somehow i have the feeling that raising the velocity in the DAW does not produce the same effect than using this knob in SD2 before dragging a groove into a MIDI track.
Am i wrong?

IIRC, the velocity sweep knob adds or subtracts in a relative manner instead of an absolute. I.e. that would not be the same as just raising the total velocity of a part in your DAW.
If I’m wrong, I hope to be corrected by the programmer.

Thanks, John!
I’m glad to hear that my ears work.
But the velocity knob would work on all MIDI files, right?
Let’s say i imported a SD2 MIDI groove in my DAW and changed the snare pattern (deleted some hits and added some new ones). Can i export this edited groove (as a MIDI file) and then load it in SD2, change the velocity and reimport it in my DAW?
I hope i was able to express what i wanted to ask.
I really like the way how this velocity knob affects the expression and dynamics of a pattern.

Yes, export the MIDI.
Open the groove browser and double click on ‘MY MIDIFILES’.
Drag your MIDI file into the ‘MY MIDIFILES’ folder.
