Hello all! Amateur home recorder here. Love the EzMix stuff, it has helped me tremendously to get a sound I like when recording songs in my basement. I have been fumbling my way through learning lingo for various recording techniques and experimenting with EzMix, but I was curious if anyone could enlighten me on what the difference between the Amplifiers and Inserts are, or I guess a more proper question would be, what exactly are the “Inserts”? are they meant to be used in addition to other things, like amplifiers? or are they meant to be dropped on the delay and reverb returns? Or can you tinker to your hearts content, and put them wherever you want with whatever else? Hopefully my question makes sense =P.. anyway, thanks for any advice given to a big noob like myself!!
Insert effects are effects used directly on the audio channel.
The alternative is Send effects, which are meant to be placed on a bus (sometimes called AUX, AUX return, etc).
This is basics of mixing audio, and you should read some tutorials regarding this!

So, the “amplifier” is an insert to be used directly on a track?
Usually yes. You could use it as a send effect I suppose, if you wanted to blend in the unprocessed guitar signal along with the amp sound.
