I am not a drummer.
I am a guitar player doing home recording only.
Tried the EZD trial. 5 minutes later I was creating a drum beat.
Cool. The tutorials are great.
Took advantage of the SD2 40% off deal through toontrack.
I can’t do a thing with it.
I thought it was just EZD with more kits.
Can’t find the section where you make a beat, and then it gives you a list of similar ones with a % of similarity.
Does that exist in SD2?
Plus, I cannot make the display full screen. It is FAR too small.
I have to put my face 6 inches from the screen to see it at all, and the fonts are blurry.
I have a laptop with a 13″ screen, and I have poor eyesight.
If I cannot full screen the display, it will be useless to me.
Did I buy the wrong software? Is SD2 totally different than EZD?
Seems like it is.
Hi,
EZdrummer 2 focuses more on song writing and getting ideas sounding like completed tracks easy and quick while Superior 2 is more about the virtual studio situation with complete control over the drums, articulations and microphones.
Superior 2 is also a few years older than EZdrummer 2, so it has not got the newer song writing features that exist in EZdrummer 2, e.g. the Tap2Find.
So, they are not the same, no.
I recommend you contact Toontrack directly, if you feel you have bought the wrong software.

I’m just looking into EZDrummer and had the same question as the OP. Thanks for the reply with explanation. My inclination would have been to select the “Superior” product which in this case wouldn’t have met my wants and needs…Thanks Jet460 for framing the question as you did and thanks to John for the clear explanation in your reply.
Looks like I’m getting closer to acquisition!
