I have DfH installed and working smoothly.
I use a Roland TD20 kit to perform my midis.
I changed all my TD20 instrument’s midi notes to coincide with DfH.
My only problem is the hihat.
It responds poorly to both my sticking and when trying to play closed hihat.
When sticking, if I close with the pedal and then quickly open and hit the cymbal with a stick it doesn’t always register.
It’s also like I have to literally stand on the pedal to get it to register closed.
What I’ve already tried to remedy this:
Adjusting the offset.
Adjusting the CC resolution.
Adjusting the noise cancel.
Tried changing the instrument to VH11 instead of 12.
Re-mapped the instrument to every possible variation of appropriate midi notes listed in the DfH midi note guide.
When playing through my TD20, all is fine with the hihat; this only happens with DfH.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Is this DFH the EZx on EZDrummer or SD2 or do you mean the heritage version of SuperiorDrummer2.
Have you tried other Hi Hats or sample X packs ?
You may find other X packs respond better or are programmed better you can also get SD2 to get into better articulation control and program something that suits you better.I make my own presets for TD15 and SD2 and find some tweaking always gets me closer to what i need.
It’s the EZdrummer version. I don’t have other expansion packs, nor can I afford Superior Drummer at the moment.
I tried just GM notes, I tried just DfH midi notes, I tried combinations of both…
I’m totally at a loss.
I just tested only on Solo with a mere HD3 kit and it rocks, A CY5 and HD3 module when triggering EZ only gives Closed and Open but i could play really fast 16ths with very closed to full open pattern just as good as others i use (BFD gives me 5 levels of open across the pedal on this same setup !! )
Have you checked all available parameters on the TD20 is there an extra HH parameter setup in the setup or aux area.
Perhaps your going to need to unload the Hats on EZ and use just the Hats output on the TD20 at this point.
The Roland’s sounds seem to respond better but actually hide midi output problems very well as your not using them if using internal sounds, i believe it is on the TD20 end.
