Demo version ?

I have been trying demo versions of different drum software before I spend hard earned and extremely limited funds…I have heard about ezdrummer and dfh and it seems to be more along the lines of the type of sound I need, however, it seems toontrack is the only company that doesn’t offer a demo…there is a lite version,but i would have to buy expensive equipment from a third party to get it in which case I might as well straight up buy the toon track software…what if I do not like it ? what if I do not like its operation or how it intergrates with my host ? what if it sounds different than the online demo ? Then what ? I really cant afford to drop $300 ( ez and dfh ) without knowing for sure it’s what I truly want,so what do I do ?

Are there any stores nearby where you can demo it?

I live in Jersey, not many music stores local to me,and the ones that are, aren’t big on “demos” for software items..you either buy it or you don’t. The one issue with the store demo as well, assuming I could find one, is that it is on their host,their plug ins, thier computer, their monitors, etc and may not be the same here at home soundwise depending on how much the salesman doctors up the sound. For example, I have the addictive drums demo here and can see exactly how it will sound,operate, usage of resource and so on…I obviously can’t make a real song with it due to the kit piece limit,but I can see how it sounds, works, and relates to my equipment exactly,no guesswork or taking chances with compatabillity or resource.
Honestly,as reputable as the EZ drummer is supposed to be, I am quite suprised there is no demo avaialable outside of purchasing third party equipment. As I am sure I am not the first person to bring the no demo thing to your attention, I find it as a red flag for I don’t purchase anything I can not explore first, just my way of doing things as a smart and well informed shopper. I think you would sell many more copies of your software if people could get a taste of it without having to spend money to get a lite version or have to go far out of their way to see it somewhere. perhaps offer the lite version to everyone ? or some form of ? why do only certain people get to demo it and not others ? If the product is that good, I am sure people would buy it, but for me… not being able to check it out is swaying me towards the addictive drums, since I would know exactly what I am getting. I am looking to buy the software in the next week or so and check out some other demos as well, if anything becomes available from toontrack let me know, otherwise…sorry, and thanks for reading.
