    15 minute limit
    no saving

    Can’t remember the 3rd one

Still, I recommend just downloading it and using it. I did just to check if it ran on my system (the demo works alongside ezmix 1 btw, but replaces if you get the upgrade)

in addition, the demo can’t access expansions packs. It is not so much a limitation, but a logical restriction.

    Hmmm…
I was chatting with Michael via the Toontrack Online chat support on Tuesday and I asked what the demo limitations for EZMix2 were.
His reply was the plugin was active for 14 days….

I would like to time my demo period appropriately for the end of this month, but if there is no 14 day restriction, I’ll start my demo today.

So, is that correct in addition to the 15 minute/no save restriction?

    Thanks,
    GregJ

it is definitely 15 minutes per session… no ‘expiration’ besides this.

    Greg,

Sorry about that… I had the old information from the demo restrictions from EZmix 1. I later sent you an email with the updated EZmix 2 restrictions.

    Again, sorry for the confusion.

    No problem, Michael!
Glad to get the info sorted out. I really like the online pre-sale chat thing you guys have going on.

    Thanks,

Pretty generous limitations on the demo I think. You can actually get some work done with it if you bounce/render your tracks to audio. I did end up buying it a day after the release though. But the guitar amp sim sounds really sold me. They really are very good.

They are good, aren’t they. I discovered a little secret. I blend a little simulation audio in with my live amp tracks. I think it sounds kind of nice.

Mixing and matching with guitar sims (with or without real guitars) is always the best route to go. I used to record real guitar exclusively, but time, hours, respect for family, lol, etc, have moved me more in the 95% amp sim directly. Anytime I use one amp sim and only one amp sim, I get too much of one character or another. Even if you use different amps in one amp sim suite, I find they all tend to have a common sonic signature. And when they are all together it just emphasizes that sonic signature, which is usually a terrible thing. Lately, I’ve been mixing GTR3, Studio Devil VGA II, Ampire XT (studio one), and now I can throw in EZmix 2. And things come out great. It sprinkles the guitar around nicely instead of clumping them all up together. Come to think of it, “guitar clot” is a good description of what it sounds like when you use too much of only one sim.

I hope to get back to recording real guitar amps again soon. Some of the best sounds I’ve ever gotten have obviously been real amps. But I’m psyched that EZmix 2 has not only gave us some amp sims to use, they also happen to be pretty awesome. Probably the best metal sounds I’ve heard, though I don’t really write, record, do any metal stuff. But I do like a lot of metal, so they are fun to play.
