I have a ddrum3 brain and I am thinking about attempting to use it with Superior. The 3 is a crazy, powerful beast of a drum brain (for it’s age I still prefer it over the latest modules), but is a little lacking in the cymbals department as far as advanced functionality goes (cymbal chokes, hi-hat, etc.). There is a way to get a working hi-hat going using some of the features on the 3 that weren’t even tailored for this. I am assuming this MIDI data gets spit out for this as well and thus could possibly used in a template for DFHS. Using group functionality (where a pad can be used to terminate the sounds of others) I’m thinking that even cymbal chokes might be able to be achieved as well.
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to make this happen (template). I can supply a PDF manual for the ddrum3 as well if it helps.
Thanks for your time.
Hi – sure we can try to help if there is a MIDI implementation chart in the manual. Please send to supporttoontrack•com and we’ll have a look ASAP.
