I’m just getting started with SD and have found DevKit to be the perfect sound. The only problem is that most of the cymbals aren’t loud enough (you can barely hear most of the crash cymbals). I’m wondering if anyone knows the best way to increase the cymbal volume. I’ve tried increasing the signal of the overhead mics, but that alters the sound of the rest of the drums. I’ve also tried increasing the volume on the cymbals one at a time with limited success. Any thoughts?
A simple solution would be >
In the construction page-editor of the GUIi right hand corner is a volume slider, highlight the cymbals one by one and simply raise their volume.
You can even hit the edit articulation only if, for example you want the ride bell to be at a slightly different level to other articulation of that cymbal.
Also, in the bleed of the O/Heads you find level faders and you could use subtractive levelling (bringing down) to lower the volume of drums that are too loud once you raised the O/H fader.
