I’m using my Yamaha DTX III sp as a controller for Superior 2.0 in pro tools, and want to record the cymbal chokes.
They are transmitted as polyphonic aftertouch from the DTX module, and it works well while performing.
But when I play the recorded performance back, it doesn’t play the chokes at all.
In the midi event list there are polyphonic aftertouch events recorded, but they state a value of 0…but as I said, it sounds right while recording…so I’m totally baffled what changes from recording to playback.
If I manually set the value to 127, then it plays the choke…but stays choked, as if there needs to be a value of 0 to get it back to normal.
It’s not about the midi input filtering in pro tools…if that is activated, it also ignores the chokes while recording.
Bottomline…I hear the chokes in MIDI thru, but somehow they don’t play back after recording.
Anybody have a clue??

Rail was able to duplicate what I experience, so it appears to be a Pro Tools bug.
