Hi all, I wondered if anyone could give me some advice or shed some light, I use ezdrummer 2 regularly for song writing with a couple of my projects but have recently started a classic rock covers project and whilst we wait for a drummer to appear I was hoping I could somehow get just the original drum tracks onto mp3 format to play back in our local practice rooms.
I hoped initially that there was some way to load a midi of the original tracks drums into ezdrummer and reconstruct it? And then load that into my DAW and export it to mp3, I’m not sure if this is possible as I haven’t tried to do this before, or failing that if anyone knows where the best place to get just drum backing tracks for songs? I don’t want to have to try and recreate them from scratch really, I don’t have the time on my hands right now.
Thanks for your time.

Hi, I just stumbled on this , hope it will help.
I use Cubase. Many other DAWs will have the same functions, in principle.
My process. Of course, find your midi song, there are many sites out there.
Delete all BUT the Drums.
I believe you can even simply SOLO the wanted track…
Tweak it in your DAW as you like to play it,Highlight the track with locators.
EXPORT .Mp3 or .Wav to your DAW or Assigned folder.
SAVE Everything, you never know.
Same process for any Instrument/track. i.e. A bassline to the acoustic song Old Man is always nice.
Good luck.
