Is there someone who can tell me how to connect my Roland TD-20 to my Mac so I can play true Superior Drummer 2. What do I need, and is there someplace a manual where I can find it out. I`m new on this. Thanks.
You need a MIDI interface or a soundcard with a built in MIDi interface. There are plenty of options around. Since you have firewire ports you can look at a firewire interface or PCI/PCIe.
E6600, Intel DQ965GF, 4 GB of RAM, Windows XP pro 32 bit RME FF800, LIQUID MIX, Cubase 4.1.3
In order to give all this a try, without spending to much money on an external audio interface, I bought an http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=733&ParentId=114. Combined with the internal sound card of my MacBook and proper headphones this gives me a low budget but fairly decent S2.0 experience. If you want something with a little more quality you might consider the http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=704&ParentId=114 or http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=731&ParentId=114. But maybe more experienced users can give you some insight on which audio interface will give you a good experience (low latency, high quality output) for a fair price. I’d be interested in this as well.
Thanks`s guys, I have ordered a http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=audiokontrol1_de from my dealer, so now I almost can`t wait.
