I was wondering if the samples in S2.0 and the SDX expansion packs are using compressed data ?
I don’t mean the recording of the samples – I mean the actual sample data itself…
EG : The BFD Evil Drums pack is 69.4 GB whilst the SDX version is 35GB – which even to a dummy like myself would suggest a compression ratio of 2:1
Unless of course they reduced the level of the hits in the SDX version…
Anyway – maybe someone might have the inside track on this a be able to enlighten me…
Thanks…ajw
Sorry - I don't use auto-tune....
Yes. We have been using lossless compression in our sound libraries
since the release of EZdrummer 1.0. We even had it earlier than that
in Superior 1 but only in RAM not on disk. We call it TPC.

OK..Thanks for the reply….So is the compression ratio 2:1 ? EG : an SDX that shows 17 GB on the HD is really 34 GB of uncompressed sample data ? ajw
Sorry - I don't use auto-tune....
It is usually something around a factor of 3 for TPC 1.
