Closed edge vs closed tip

Hey guys.  Still on SD2.0.  Barely used it, but just got back into this stuff after many years.

 

Question: on the hi-hat, is “closed tip” hitting it with the tip of the stick, and “closed edge” hitting it with the edge of the stick?  Or does it refer to the spot on the hi-hat itself?

It’s as you’ve said it. It’s referring to the stick. Edge is the Shank (side) of the stick.
