Hey Kids!
Having trouble finding your new Slate/Morgan presets? Then do like I did… LOOK IN THE RIGHT PLACE! I too couldn’t find them after install and after much searching, hair pulling and gnashing of teeth I sent a quick email to ToonTrack Support.
Here’s the reply:
Hi Michael,
Please make sure that you have selected the Avatar kit, as this is the only kit that the presets will work for. If you have done this please send us a screen shot of your combined preset window.
(I highlighted the clue!)
So you can’t find your bought and paid for fancy new Presets? Read on, my Friends…
We open Superior all hot and sweaty to try out our new presets. With trembling mouse we click on the big menu on the top left that says “presets” (kind of makes sense, doesn’t it) and… nothing. WHAT! Another click… nothing. Hmmm… I bought ‘presets’… the menu label says ‘presets’… what the?
Now… remembering the clue from above…
1) look to the right and down a bit and we see our kit menu (nashville, cocktail, etc.) Select “N.Y.-Avatar”
2) Next to it we see a “load/save” menu… click on it and we see a “Combined Presets” menu…
3) highlight it with your mouse and it will drop down and VIOLA!… there they are!
If you’re like me, I have rarely (if ever) used the “Load/Save”-‘Combined Presets’- window. I mean preset is preset right? But I guess it’s time for another stroll through the manual.
I hope this saves some time for any of you who are having this same problem. You’re welcome.
P.S. And ToonRack Support? Feel free to modify and send this to any other of your customers who are pulling their hair out and not feeling the ToonTrack Love with this issue. (By the way, ToonTrack support rocked on this one. Although the answer wasn’t as clear as my 123, they got back to me in under an hour. Thumbs Up, Kids!)
Never underestimate the power of a user manual.
Or even the ‘Read Me’ often included with installs. I don’t think anyone ever reads those.
Ok, I just downloaded the Slate presets. Very nice they are too. My problem is that I see them in Solo, under the “Combined Presets” menu, but I do not see them when I open Superior as a VST in Reaper.
So my question is: how do I get the presets in Reaper as well as in Solo?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Scott,
My guess would be that Solo and Reaper are using 2 different Superior Drummer.dlls. Are you using the latest version in both Solo and Reaper? Version 2.2.3 is the latest and version 2.2.2 is required for the presets. Make sure Reaper is addressing the same .dll as Solo is.

Exact same issue another user had last week. Turned out to be 2 different versions of superior drummer dll as Scott mentioned.

Scott and Harry,
Many thanks for your answers. You were right. I was running 2.2.2 in Reaper but 2.2.3 in Solo. (I naively assumed that Reaper would automatically scan for updated files.)
Thanks again.
