Folks,
I extracted the EZkeys_Grand_Piano_Demo_WIN.zip file (18 files were created) into a directory on my computer and double-clicked on the EZkeys Grand Piano 32-bit.msi file from my newly created sub-directory.
The install process begins but stalls shortly after with a message box telling me I am missing a file called ezk-grandpianoAversion (verify the file exists and that you can access it. If I tell it to ignore the error I get the same message box with several other files.
Am I missing files in the downloaded zip file?
thanks
Hi there,
I have exactly the same experience you described and I don´t think we did anything wrong. Let´s Keep contact here please if we had found a solution or the support has done this. I tried other demo Versions of EZ Keys (other pianos) with the same result.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
just to make sure; you have indeed right-clicked and selected ‘Extract all…’, not just double-clicked the ZIP archive?

Hi John,
thanks for the fast reply. I tried the following different procedures – nothing worked: Double click/right click. Extracting with The Windows own unpacking Routine, with IZarc and 7Zip. Always choosing the option to extract the whole file content. No error message occurs – this occurs normally in case something is not extracted correctly. Then going to the extracted Folder “EZkeys_Grand_Piano_Demo_WIN”, Clicking on “EZkeys Grand Piano 32-bit.msi.The unpacking starts and the error messsage occurs as described.

Rainer
My experience is the same – I extracted all the files and was NOT running the program from inside the .zip file. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with SP1 installed. I
Hi,
I’ve asked my colleagues for assistance on this since I am a bit rusty on Windows specifics but meanwhile, could you please try to Extract the ZIP close to the root of your hard drive before running the installer?

Hi John,
I tried extracting the zip file to my main Windows Partition (Root) C:. But still the same error. I wonder if only the demo Versions Show this error – I suppose the demo Version is in general the same as the main Version and can be changed to a main Version with an activation process with an unlock code.
But Toontrack should be interested in issuing working Demos to win new customers. It should be possible to create new working demo installers if the problem consists.
Best regards and thanks in advance.

Hi there, I had solved the Problem. It seems that the demo package (for example “EZKeys_Grand_Piano_Demo_WIN.zip) can not be extracted correctly on Windows 7, but it is not clear right away – in this stage no error message occurs. After extracting on Windows 7 you have a folder named EZKeyz_Grand_Piano_Demo_WIN containing several files, amongst others a file named ez keyz Grand piano 32 bit.msi for example. If you click THIS FILE , the Installation process is starting, but then it stopps with an error message “missing file..” as described.
I tried extracting the same demo package on a Windows XP Computer, and the extracted files are organized in another way! This time the folder “EZKeys_Grand_Piano_Demo_WIN” contains another Folder named “Install”, and the 32 and 64 bit *msi files are included in THIS Folder. Clicking on the 32 bit *msi file started the Installation process and made a correct Installation without error messages possible.

Rainer
Thanks Rainer – I opened up Winzip v11.2 and manually unzipped the files and now have the experience you described.
Thank you!!!
