All of the settings I am seeing on YT videos are not working. Basically you would go Settings>Audio/Midi Setup> And I’ve attached a screenshot of those options. 256 is as lowest Buffer size I can get it to and it’s still really off. When I go to the Device type drop down the options are WASAPI, WASAPI (Exclusive Mode), WASAPI (Low Latency Mode), DirectSound & ASIO. With DirectSound I can get the buffer size down to 64 but it loses sound quality and still has the latency.
I am using the Roland TD-27. Can anybody help me out with this.
Hi,
your best alternative should be ASIO drivers, WASAPI is slow IIRC. If you have Focusrite hardware, there *should* be fast ASIO drivers available for it. Please check the Focusrite site for up-to-date ASIO drivers.

Thanked by: Cory_3i think you will find the ultimate answer to latency is you need to monitor directly during recoding while listening to the recorded instruments. later, if you want to substitute the TD kit (i always record both the MIDI and the audio) with TT or some other drum VI, then do that after recording when the latecy in the mix will be consistent and the same. vs the live vs rountrip echo / VI latency all DAW introduce regardless of the ASIO vs any other driver techniqute.

Thanked by: Cory_3We were able to fix this issue by updating the driver for the Focusrite. Thank you everybody for the responses.
