As you might know, Cakewalk Sonar products have been discontinued as of November 2017. In January of 2018 a company from Singapore acquired Cakewalk from its former owner, Gibson Brands. In April of 2018, they (re) introduced their flagship DAW and called it Cakewalk by Bandlab and made it absolutely free to the public. Even if you never owned a Cakewalk product in the past, you can have Cakewalk by Bandlab full and functional with as many plugins as came with the former Sonar Platinum DAW.
My concern here is, as I’m an owner and user of both EZ Drummer 2 and EZ Keys will I continue to enjoy support for any issues I might have in moving forward using my Toontrack products in the new Cakewalk by Bandlab? Will I perhaps run into any issues with these product in updating? I have, in fact completed two projects using both Toontrack products and have not encountered any problems so far and both have continued to work beautifully. I’m just wondering if there might be issues in the future and has Toontrack been in any correspondence with Bandlab regarding future support for products in their new DAW? Thanks so much. I hope you can re assure me as I love Toontrack products to death and hope I can always count on using them without any glitches in the new DAW.
