Hi All. Just got my first kit (TD-27KV2) after years of acoustic kit drumming. As my kit is on a smooth surface, my bass drum (quite obviously) slides forward.
What is the best way to counter this? I’m hesitant to place it against the wall as the impact will constantly be on the bracket if the solution is a carpet, which is best; a drum rug or just a standard carpet? I’ve noticed the pins that secure the kick drum are quite long and thick.
Thanks!
Either a rug or carpet will help. I have the Roland rug, and with the KD-10 kick, it doesn’t move as the velcro underneath makes sure it doesn’t budge. I’ve a heavy foot, and it’s never moved once.
