Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times but I’m in the process of downloading and will be installing soon. Is installing to an external SSD the best option for speed and obviously portability?
Part 2. After downloading and installing can I then delete the downloaded files from my internal H/D?
Thanks in advance and tolerating the newb questions.

Great, I was just wondering the same thing. But how can you choose a location to install sample library files? I have looked everywhere inside the Download Manager and just can’t find it.

From the SDX sound installer, it should prompt you to select install location.

Thanks, Scott. 🙂 I will look around more in the SDX installer.
I noticed it’s going down into my system SSE right now, where there isn’t space enough. Guess I have to pause the installation and move the folder, with whatever content might have been downloaded so far, to the 5TB external drive that I use for all libraries. Eh, would that be possible? Or will I have to restart the installation from scratch to target the external drive location?
Well, for all SDX Expansions I can go “Show Details/Installation Info/Set Location to Installed Library”. But my issue is that I can’t find a way to direct the very first library installation (Superior Line) to the external drive location. Ideas?
I have now reinstalled the Superior Line to the system drive and trying to direct the SDX library packs to the external drive but the Download Manager gives me the error message “The selected folder is not valid for installation of Superior Drummer 3 Library”. I also tried to create a folder namend “Toontrack” on that drive, but got the same error message.
There are 2 things in play here.
1) the product download of the SDX (installer/sound files) location from Toontrack. This can be changed from Tools-Options and changing the Download location. You can also move downloads you currently have in one place, to the new download location (Move Downloads to Current Download Location)
2) the install location for the product onto your computer. For each SDX you install, you will be asked in the installer where you want it to install. Select whatever drive/location you desire.
