I am a very exited and appreciative owner of several Toontrack applications and kits. I’ve rec orded live isolated drum parts for years and would love to be able to insert something like DrumTracker in each channel in Steinberg (kick, snare, hat, etc.) with real-time dial-able controls to in order to capture trigger points and frequency recognition, much like a gate in order to capture these live drum performances to midi for Superior Drummer.
I haven’t had the time to do much research but I’m curious how well the application recognizes open and closed Hi Hat and different Cymbals? Will this app ever be a plugin instead of a stand alone? That’s what I understand it is currently. I would love to hear anyone’s response, especially from TroonTrack staff members.
Thanks!!
You will only get timing info and no open/closed info for hats, you get dynamics so snr, kik, toms, cym, and hats will all be very workable,
thats the way logic and protools drum replacement works ,its good but for hats you simply need to do some extra programming.
Well,
regarding hihats of different openness, I’d take the approach of adding several ‘instruments’ to the same Input.
I made a quick test file to take an explaining screen shot.

Just to clarify, Drumtracker is a standalone program and cannot be inserted in a host as a plug-in.
