hey everyone!i recently just installed a copy of ez drummer i got a couple of years ago when i bought all of my gear.i got it from guitar center and it was a weekend special!they was sellin ez drummer for 30 bucks so i figured, why not!anyways i forgot all about it and came across it today actually so i installed it and everything worked fine!i actually was kicking myself in the rear for not installing before i did!
i noticed when i turned everything off and came back later on that when i went into protools and brought up the ezdrummer plug in it was asking for an authurazation code again!so i punched it in again and it started working, then i shut it off and turned it on again repeating the process and it asked me for the auth. code again!i normally dont have my studio computer online except when im authorizing plugins.im just wondering why every time i shut down and start back up it keeps askin me for the auth. code?i thought once you typed in the code code you was good to go?for my other plug ins they required me to have an ilok but ezdrummer didnt ask for one so i figured i was good just typing it in!did i do something wrong?help please cause this software is killer and i would definately be useing it a ton if i can get it straightened out!thanks in advance!
First, please fill in your system specs on your member profile page.
Second, make sure you have installed the latest update for your system from your Toontrack account. The latest version is 1.3.1.
Lastly, are you able to input the same authorization code when the authorization screen pops up? If so, it would seem that there is an administrator issue? If you’re on a Windows machine make sure you are logged in as administrator.

Hello! Think this is the same or similar issue that happens on my computer. I can authorize the programs, an get them work fine, until I restart my computer. When I restart my computer the EzDrummer ask for authorization code again. So the ExDrummer & Superiodrummer work fine, until I restart the computer. When I restart my computer the EzDrummer & Superiordrummer ask for authorization code again. The other day I received an email from the support (to I have mailed about the issue) and got an answer that “[…] update for EZdrummer has not been released yet. We recommend that you subscribe to The Toontrack forum announcements section. This forum informs all subscribers of updates.”
I don´t use the programs because I don´t want to authorizes the programs every time I start up my computer.
Hopefully ther will be a release of an update to EzDrummer and Superiordrummer some day so I can use the programs.

P.S. No I´m not “able to input the same authorization code when the authorization screen pops up”.
I had to do the prosedure to from the top, via new code from Toontrack webpage. etc.

Rene, is your network device or wireless modem being cycled on and off between starts?
Is the Computer ID totally different each time?

Scott,
I do not have any network. Only a wireless modem (an usb-stick).
Don´t know what it means if a “modem being cycles on and off between starts”?., my wireless modem seems to works fine, in my understanding.
Yes: I will remeber that the “Computer ID” (the authorization code)is totaly different eatch time. Same computer. Seems to be like the “Computer ID” change everytime I restart my computer.
So I had to get a new autorization code from (Computer ID) from Toontrack webpage every time. Havn´t done that for some time now, because the issue appears everytime. So i do not have the programs in my computer for the moment.
Have done some mail-conversation with Toontrack support/info for maybe a half year now, and the last mail i got from support/info is in my understanding about to wait for update for the programs?
So i patently waiting for the uppdate that hopefully will solve the issue. It would be nice to use the programs, but they only work until i restart my computer.
Everything else, like any other programs works fine on my computer, even after restarting. But not the Toontrackproducts. So i can not use the Toontrackproducts in my understanding normal way, yet, because the issue.

I’m asking if it is being turned on or off. Do you get the same results with the USB stick removed? IOW, if you remove the USB stick and restart the computer a few times, does the Computer ID keep changing or does it stay the same when you open EZD/S2?
Other than that, I don’t have anything else to add. If you’ve been in email contact with Toontrack Support, I can only defer to their recommendations (not knowing what they have or haven’t suggested).

One thing to establish here is that in normal operation, day in day out for most set ups EZ and SD2 do not have any such problems .
So these guys are
having difficulties because of there system id changing because of internet – ?
Do not know how to turn it on an off. (More than turn the whole computer on and off).
Have the USB stick removed once, when i by Toontrack Music Support/info been recomended to get a new one!
After recomendation i replaced the USB stick with a new one month ago. Same results:
The EzDrummer and Superiordrummer works fine, until i restart the computer. After that the programs need a new authorization.
It seems to me that the EzDrummer and Superiordrummer do not want to remember that they alredy have been authorized.
Okay, thanks: “I can try to load the programs to my computer again, get the latest updates, autorize, and after that try to remove the USB stick and restart the computer a few times,
to see if the “Computer ID” keep changing, or if it does stay the same when I open EzDrummer and Superiordrummer! Will try with that and get back to you about the results soon as possible! Okay?
*Yes I have been in email contact with Toontrack Support many times, over many months, about the issue.
Hello again!
Okay, I have done following today:
1. Installed the EZdrummer Installer, EXZ Coctail Installer, and Toontrack solo Installer.
2. Restarted the computer (without the USB-stick modem removed), and opened the program (EZdrummer) 7 times, and notice that the computer ID stay the same every time.
In this mood I also noticed the computer ID begins with: a number, following with a letter, following with a number, following with a letter – and so on; a Computer ID with totally 12 characters.
2. Connected the USB-stick modem (without connecting the computer to internet), and opened the program (EZdrummer) 7 times, and notice that the computer ID Change every time.
In this mood I also noticed the computer ID begins with: four letters (AABA), following with a mix of numbers and letters, a Computer ID with totally 13 characters. To compare with 12 characters as described above.
Summary so far after testing 7 times for each procedure:
1. Yes: The Computer ID stay the same each time I restart the computer and the EZdrummer program.
In this mood I also noticed the computer ID begins with: a number, following with a letter, following with a number, following with a letter – and so on; a Computer ID with totally 12 characters.
2. No: The Computer ID do not stay the same each time (7times) I restart the computer and the EZdrummer program.
In this mood I also noticed the computer ID begins with: four letters (AABA), following with a mix of numbers and letters; a Computer ID with totally 12 characters.
To compare with 12 characters as described above.
Should I try to authorize with ID begins with: a number, following with a letter, following with a number, following with a letter – and so on, totally with 12 characters?
or the one with 13 characters, beginning with four letters (AABA) that probably do not work?, because I have tried so many times before!
Have only done this with EZdrummer. Not try that with the Superior drummer yet.
Do not know what to do!
My recommendation is to authorize with the USB stick removed. Then, only run EZdrummer/S2 with the USB stick removed.

Thank you!
Okey, so far the EZdrummer, and Superior drummer 2 seems to works fine, even after restarting the computer, and when authorizing is done with the USB stick removed. And then in my understanding only run EZdrummer/S2 with the USB stick is removed. Good to know. Now I can finally use the programs. Thank you!
