Hi,
I am new to toontrack, have questions/concerns,
1. I need to know how toontrack authorization works, specifically the ‘computer id’,
what is the ‘computer id’ generation tied to?
Reason for my question is, I noticed that when I purchased EZDrummer and went through
the authorization process, the ‘computer id’ that was generated was different than
when I authorized ‘EZDrummer Lite’ quite awhile back. And this IS on the same
exact computer.
The only differences between then and now are:
– ‘Then’ I was running ‘Mountain Lion’ and ‘Now’ I am running a fresh install of ‘Mavericks’
– Also, ‘Then’ when I went through the authorization process, I used the
computer name ‘MacBook Pro 2009’ and this time I used the computer name ‘MacBook Pro’
I hope this is because I ‘accidentally’ chose a different computer name…
I like to run very clean computers (and experiment a lot).. so with my macbook I like to reformat
and do a clean install of the os, and then add everything back, from time to time.
And I need to know that I can do this possibly 2 or 3 times a year, switching operating
systems, perhaps even going back to an older os or whatever the case may be, without having
to go through major hassle.. (…and simply ‘confirm’ authorization of my ‘computer id’ or whatever…)
I also am thinking about going to Superior, EZMix etc. and just need to know how this works.
2. I am assuming also, that when I move on to
a new computer one day, you guys will allow me to de-authorize my ‘old’ machine.. and move to
another one.. (or two) and reset my total authorization count as needed.. in the years to come…
Surely I am right here.. (it would be really silly to amass a large collection of toontrack tools)
only to have to re-buy them after hitting a ‘4 total authorizations’ cap
I would like to experiment with different daws on Mac / Windows, deauthorizing reauthorizing
hobbying around etc.
So, In summary.
How do I avoid generating a different ‘computer id’ when using the same computer?
Does toontrack reset the 4 total authorization cap when it has been reached for a legit user so they can
continue to use the tools that they bought?
Sometimes the EZ or Ez lite , SD2 will cause different id’s to be generated, this can be easily explained by TT and is no real issue at all.
However have no fear as a legit user you will be very well taken care of and you won’t have any troubles especially with resets,
Hope that helps till TT answer for ya.
I need help!
A few years ago I purchased Toontrack Ezdrummer drum kit from hell. now, My MAC’s hard drive had to be replaced and I have 2 folders for ezdrummer, but I don’t have the installation file. I may have to log into the toontrack site to download this file. When I enter my email to be sent my password because I forgot it, it tells me that this email is not registered. That is the only email that I remember registering with. Is there a possible solution for this?
Thank you
