Hi guys,
First of all, great job on SD3. Sounds are much improved and most functions are much more user friendly. Although I do miss the look of the old version. For my, slightly older, eyes it was somewhat more readable. Especially the used font doesn’t translate well on my screens, not really sharp.
Anyway, I’m a big fan of the ruffs on the snare because I record my drums playing live on keys so with the ruffs I can easily make some nice rolls. Now it seems I have to activate them everytime I select a different kit. Of course I’ve already changed the default kit to my liking. Is there anyway of letting the program start up with all articulations activated? Or am I missing something here?
Regards, Alex
The presets are saved with various articulations turned off, since they can be heavy on RAM. If you’d like to have the ruffs enabled I would recommend that you set up the preset as you like it and save it as a User Preset.
It would however be a useful feature to be able to let the user decide that “no matter what preset I load, load the ruffs – if they exist”. We will take note of that!

Thanked by: trevorondrumsHey Henrik,
It is indeed just a minor inconvenience since I will be constructing my own kits anyway as user presets. No biggie whatsoever. But to be able to override system settings is always a bonus. While SD3 lets you tweak about everything regarding the drums I just couldn’t get my head around not being able to default to loading all articulations 🙂 Thanks for your swift response!
Can you please supply specific instructions on how to add a specific articulation to an existing preset?….for example….I like the country rock punch preset kit……
but, I need a sidestick on snare, this doesn’t exist in kit…..EXACTLY how do I make this avalable? Please be specific, I didn’t understand your previous reply

See this section of the S3 manual:

Scroll to the Articulation Menu section.
In S3, select the snare in your kit and make sure the Sidestick articulation is turned on in that menu.
