Are electronic drums worth it?

Hey, I’m relatively new here and I was just wondering if I should get electronic or stick with my acoustic drums. It’s because my drum teacher says that with acoustic you do not get the dynamics right for instance playing forte and piano on the acoustic sound different, however on the electric they don’t. Are there any electric drums which do take in to mind the dynamics and if so are they very expensive? Thanks guys.
