I recently purchased Superior drummer 2.0, along with EZ drummer and a couple of expansion packs.
I thought I would check the App Store to see if I could find an app for the product containing additional information and maybe some helpful videos to get me started and learn a few tricks.
There was only one app associated with Toontrack and they expect people to pay $15au for it!!
I am guessing that Toontrack will say it is because it is “MacProVideo.com NonLinear Educating” that is responsible for the exorbitant fee, but Toontrack have obviously allowed “MacProVideo.com NonLinear Educating” to use their name and charge such an outrageous fee.
My question is.
After spending hundreds of dollars on your products, why do you not have an app of your own for purchasers of your products, and why have you authorised another company to charge such a rediculous fee?
I find it insulting, considering I can just go on YouTube and watch thousands of hours worth of video information for free, instead of paying for something that should be free for me already.
I think it is something that Toontrack needs to look into, and try to remedy the situation, by bringing out your own set of tutorials for owners of your products.
Perhaps even bring out your own smaller version of your products that can be used with Apps like GarageBand on the iPad.
That would be FANTASTIC!
I look forward to your response to my questions and queries.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely yours.
A slightly disillusioned, yet faithful customer.
Hi,
did you check out Toontrack’s YouTube channel?
It’s full of tips and tutorials for the product range:

Yes I have, and it is very handy, but considering how popular the Toontrack software is, and how much money that the company must have made by now, I would’ve thought/liked to have seen a Toontrack app that has information coming directly from Toontrack, along with videos.
Something I can carry around with me at all times, rather than having to go to YouTube.
Also, I think having to pay $15 au for an app that is related to Toontrack is a bit rich. Especially considering Toontrack has obviously given them permission to use their name and product and they must have made money from MacProVideo.com NonLinear Educating.
Just a thought, and a little bit of feedback from an otherwise very happy customer.
I purchased all of the software last week, and I still can’t get the smile off my face. ??
I haven’t been this happy since I purchased my Triumph Daytona motorcycle.
It’s unbelievable!!
Can you please provide an example of another hardware, software or plugin company that provides such an app?
I don’t want to overlook a resource like that if it’s available to me.
I’m especially interested in:
Avid (Pro Tools), Logic Pro X, Cubase (8.5), Harrison Mixbus, Waves plugins, iZotope plugins,
Steven Slate Digital Media and, for that matter, Apple’s OS X operating system and Macbook Pro hardware.
As far as I know, none of these companies offer a training app of their own creation…but maybe you’ve encountered one.
However, I do know that MacProVideo, Groove3, Lynda.com, and CreativeLive among others have created training courses & videos.
Most offer a subscription service allowing students access to their entire catalog for the duration of the subscription.
I’ve used these and highly recommend them.
Also, there is a near endless list of books covering many of the major interests.
I’ve used these as well and highly recommend them, too.
